Don the Con, how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways from just the last few days.
Trump suggested that the FBI might have “planted” documents when he knew that he and his family members had watched the search live on Mar-a-lago’s closed-circuit television system. So, this was a lie.
Trump said that the FBI had raided his “beautiful home” after his having cooperated fully. But he hadn’t cooperated fully. He had retained, illegally, despite repeated requests that he turn them over, documents with the highest level of security classification. And he knew this. So, these were multiple lies, for he made them more than once. We now know that he illegally held onto hundreds of pages of documents, many with the highest levels of secrecy, and he did so after repeated attempts of the National Archives, the DOJ, and even former members of the Trump team to get him to turn them over willingly.
Trump and his son Eric have claimed that the raid was political motivated and have suggested that it was done at Biden’s bidding. Another lie. Trump doesn’t seem to get that the DOJ is not the president’s private police force, as much as Trump tried to turn it into one during his tenure.
Trump claimed that he had a “standing order” that any documents that he took from the Oval Office were automatically declassified. He knows that there is no such thing as a standing order declassification policy, especially not for top secret and SCI documents, which are so classified because revelation of them poses a grave threat to national security. Another lie.
Trump claimed that all presidents do this. A lie. All presidents are not lying, treasonous, moronic criminals.
Trump claimed that Obama did this with large numbers of documents. No, Obama followed official procedure and protocols for transfer of Obama administration documents from the National Archives to the Obama Presidential Library. There are established procedures for this to ensure security and limits on what can be done with what. The claim that Obama did this is another of a great many lies that Trump has told about Obama, dating back to the birth certificate lies.
Trump called on the DOJ to release, immediately, the warrant and property list for this search, knowing all the while that he had copies of these and could himself release them. So, another lie, and a particularly blatant one, on which Garland called his bluff.
I’m sure that this is not an exhaustive list. Trump lies so routinely that it’s difficult to keep up with them all. He also lies blatantly because his moronic base will believe anything and because his toadying supporters among elected Republicans, who long since gave over any principles they might have once had, will cravenly back him no matter how blatant and egregious and dangerous to the country’s security the lies are.
Update, 8/14: Trump or someone close to him released to rightwing media outlets the warrant with the unredacted names of FBI officials on it. Predictably, given this MAGA crowd, these FBI officials have received threats!!! Horrific. No low is too low for the MAGATs.
Trump told his former chief of staff, John Kelly, that he [Trump] didn’t “believe in” the classification system. Now, this statement is really, really revealing. First, Trump thinks that the verb “to believe” has the meaning of “approve of,” so that “I don’t believe in” and “I don’t approve of” mean the same thing. Second, this illustrates his stupidity, his inability to make crucial distinctions. Third, because he cannot make crucial distinctions, he can’t understand things, like why we have a classification system for secrets related to national security. Fourth, this particular lack of understanding of a distinction is an example of a general cognitive issue that Trump has: He cannot distinguish between reality and what he wishes were the case. Whatever he wants, right now, must be reality, to Trump, or he throws a childish fit. He is the Child-man in the Promised Land. Toddler Trump. If reality doesn’t fit his desires, he throws a fit and throws food at the wall. If the thing he doesn’t like is a rule or a law, he just breaks it. This is how the mind of a criminal sociopath works.

As it becomes increasingly clear that Donald Trump may have violated the Espionage Act by storing “top secret” government documents at his private residence, the former president has turned to a familiar excuse: Obama did it too.
“President Barack Hussein Obama kept 33 million pages of documents, much of them classified. How many of them pertained to nuclear? Word is, lots!” Trump posted on his social media platform Friday.
But shortly after that, Fox News’ chief political anchor Bret Baier took pains to inform viewers that Trump’s whataboutism is meritless.
“There is a process,” Baier explained, noting that President Obama “followed those processes to get those documents to Chicago.” While “there was a lot of grumbling that they weren’t posted online as promised,” he said, “how they were handled was done by that process.”“The President
Obama documents were handled properly,” Baier added. “And the question is whether there’s a paper trail and a process for these documents if that’s what the Trump lawyers and the former president are arguing.
”Specifically, Trump is claiming that he personally “declassified” all of the documents in question—evoking Michael Scott’s declaration of bankruptcyon The Office—but as Baier also noted on Fox Friday afternoon, it’s not that simple.
“Now that is a big power that the president has, a sweeping power to declassify, but there are also regulations that have to, a process has to take place,” he explained. “It’s not like you wave a wand and say all these boxes are declassified.”

Yes, I know, Carol, but for every story like this on Fox, there are twelve leading stories that are about how this is all about people trying to go after Trump and a terrible weaponization of the DOJ and Trump did nothing wrong. And these stories quote major Republican figures–Senators, Representatives, former officials of the trump maladministration.

I agree totally with you. I have 3 friends who watch Fox. They all KNOW how wonderful Trump would be for this country. That ‘dear man’ never lies. The main stream media fabricates how bad he is.

Trump is SELLING top secret documents? Like Schiff, I suppose you have “direct evidence” of this. You don’t. No one does, because it hasn’t happened.
Don’t you get it? Trump’s ego was hurt when he lost, in his mind he’s still president, so he took his boxes of papers and went home. He doesn’t even know what he took, he’s never looked at any of them. Trump is not a traitor, he’s not a menace, he’s just a butthurt toddler.
What you should be worried about is the FBI continuing to act like the Stasi — actively meddling to affect the outcome of elections — in 2016 with that Russian collusion nonsense, and in 2020 by “ordering” social media and mainstream media to treat the Hunter Biden laptop as Russian disinformation and bury the story. Zuckerberg at Facebook just admitted it happened.
This country is starting to look like Daniel Ortega’s Nicaragua…suppression of anyone who dares to criticize the democratic party’s agenda.

I would be inclined to think this as well, Mike, if it weren’t for the fact that Trump has this incredibly foul relationship with Tsar Vladimir and with Russia going all the way back to the Soviet days. After Trump blew his wad by overbuilding in Atlantic City and had to declare bankruptcy, when no American bank would touch him, he took a trip to Moscow, and suddenly, Deutsche Bank, which had enormous deposits from Putin and the other siloviki, made a billion-dollar loan to the bankrupt American. And both Erik and Don Jr. made comments to the press about how they were “rolling in money from Russia.” You know, a couple years before Trump was campaigning and telling Americans, “I have nothing to do with Russia.” LMAO. He called on Russia to hack his opponent, and Russia did. He withdrew from the INF and Open Sky Treaties at the very time when Putin was doing top secret development of next generation hypersonic nuclear missiles. he denied with a straight face that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, despite a report from the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee detailing the billions of rubles and the breathtaking amount of intelligence manpower Putin put into a disinformation program on social media against Clinton and for Trump, targeting millions of individual Americans using private data. In other words, Vlad’s dog delivered and delivered and delivered for him. And all the while, the Trump organization was still dealing with Russian mobsters, some of whom lived in Trump Tower.

Trump once said that the Saudis were a great ally because “they pay cash”. He’s corrupt, his kids are corrupt…they conned the Russians, who overpaid for a lot of Trump properties, and got sucked into a lot of bad Trump deals, like many others before them.
Joe, Hunter, and Jim Biden took Ukrainian and Chinese money. Obama is somehow worth $200 million and has oceanfront estates (so much for global warming/sea level rise) in Martha’s Vineyard, Hawaii (the old set for Magnum PI!), and a mansion in DC.
Trump is the proverbial bull in the china shop…I see him as a disruptor, someone who doesn’t go along with this globalist agenda that is being pushed by the likes of Gates and Soros. I used to think this “new world order” and “great reset” stuff was for tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists, but there’s too much evidence to show it’s actually happening. The western world is collapsing…when Australian police can go through your shopping bag to make sure you’ve only purchased “essential items” during a scamdemic, when the Canadian border agents harass their own citizens about not having the right app on their smart phone to re-enter their own country but allow unvetted immigrants in without questions, when the British police arrest a veteran for re-posting an LGBT flags arranged into a swastika meme on facebook, when Brigitte Bardot is fined multiple times for “hate speech” including this horror: (she) said of Muslim immigration: “Over the last twenty years, we have given in to a subterranean, dangerous, and uncontrolled infiltration, which not only resists adjusting to our laws and customs but which will, as the years pass, attempt to impose its own.”
Don’t even get me started on muslim immigration…Sweden has gone from one of the safest countries in the world to one of the most dangerous, and no one is allowed to talk about it.
Trump is an obnoxious major league a-hole, but many people see him as one of the only chances to “stop the insanity”.

I lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for 9 years and became ill with a rare nerve disease my last year in that country. I had several friends who helped me get though those very tough months. One was a devout Muslim lady. She had received a Malaysian scholarship to Northwestern University, near Chicago, and got a Bachelors degree in chemical engineering.
She would come to pick me up nearly every weekend and drive me to grocery stores so that I could get food. She recommended an alternative medicine healing lady with whom I worked for 10 months, until I left the country.
She and I currently correspond by email regularly. The alternative medicine lady, to whom I just referred, had converted to Islam. She had studied Islam and came to realize it was the religion that gave her what she had been looking for.
The religion requires that you pray 5 times a day. My friend always does this. I have a copy of “The holy Qur’an”.
My friend represents a true Islamic lady. She actively works to help others when they are in need.

I sometimes think Trump would love nothing better than for this nation to be attacked by a foreign power, after which he would claim that if he had still been president, it would not have happened, and then he would expect his supporters to restore him to the Oval Office. My hope is that his many lies and multiple crimes against the nation, against We the People, will keep his name OFF the ballot in 2024.

Well, thing is the odds are against ALL the people being allowed to voice their opinion, with gerrymandering of districts AND voter disenfranchisement laws popping up in nearly every state. If districts were drawn fairly and if every single person 18+ years of age were going to be able to vote without undue hardship, then yes, I would agree with you.

The Pugs are working very hard right now on restricting voting rights, and the Supreme (Extreme) Court is on board. If they win both houses in November and the Presidency in 2024, they will dramatically scale back voting rights in order to stay in power.
There were almost no polling places in the predominantly black Marion County (home of Indianapolis) in Indiana during the 2020 election, so one had to wait in line all freaking day to vote, and the Republicans in the legislature passed a law making it illegal to bring anyone waiting in line food or water.

Exactly. Shortly after the 2020 election, I heard a Republican … can’t remember who right off … say that the only chance Republicans have to win future elections is by restricting who can vote. The Republicans used the filibuster to keep two significant voting rights bills from passing. WHY? I think the answer is obvious. Manicmikey seems not to understand that democracy only works when EVERYONE has a voice.

After Trump announced his candidacy, the left laughed at the absurdity. As time went on, they nervously noted how many Americans seemed to be taking a good long look at this unusual non-politician. When he defeated all the other republicans in the primaries, the left, led by Obama and Killary, with lots of help from the foolish Comey of the FBI, tried to discredit Trump with the Russian collusion fairy tale. After Trump won, they wouldn’t give up on the Russia story, and then they happily seized upon the infamous Ukraine phone call…conveniently forgetting that Trump wasn’t STARTING anything new with Ukraine, he was looking into the past, specifically Hunter Biden’s illegal activities with Ukraine, which included kickbacks to his dad Joe, and the ACTUAL shakedown phone call Joe Biden made to Ukraine when he was vice president. Remember that? Joe Biden bragged about getting Ukraine to fire a certain prosecutor, or they wouldn’t get any US aid money — that’s a shakedown. So impeachment #1 on the phone call failed, then impeachment #2 on the January 6th “insurrection” failed, now the left is at it again with this espionage act/top secret document nonsense, trying their damnedest to make sure Trump can never run again.
One thing the left will never accept is that almost half of this country wants Trump to run in 2024, and would vote him in again. The left fears a fair fight, they HATE the fact that the American people would get a chance to choose between Trump and whatever loser the democratic party would nominate.

Sorry…NOT threatened. Maybe when I was in junior high school, if there was a girl who identified as a boy in the locker room/showers, I might’ve been startled as I was going through puberty. By high school and later, as an adult with a commercial gym membership, I would’ve been curious and maybe even a bit of a gawker.
What this is really about NOW is the oppression of women, which, as you know, de Beauvoir wrote about. Most of this trans stuff is men claiming they’re women, sans surgery, and they are intruding into the private spaces of girls and women in gyms, restrooms, locker rooms, etc. And the men destroying women’s sports is a huge issue.
Again, I am not against all of this weird stuff…do whatever you want, chop off body parts, take hormones, have sex with trannies, hold drag queen parties, etc. Just limit your activities to the proper venues…private clubs for adults only. Leave the children and the normal people alone. The “Gays Against Groomers” coalition comes to mind.

You’re right…muslims don’t rape girls in Sweden, England, France etc. at far higher rates than native born Swedes, British, and French men do…saying that is racist, xenophobic, bigoted. Except Islam is NOT a race, and, try as they might to hide them, the statistics are in on rape where muslim immigration is out of control, and they are brutal. Liberals are so cruel they have no problem with British girls having to see their rapist walking around town, smirking at them, because the libs gave them a short sentence and were unable or unwilling to deport them. I remember a case where a muslim was on a commercial flight out of England, being deported/escorted to his native country, but he kicked up such a fuss that the passengers on board demanded he be released. They all cheered when the rapist was deplaned, believing they’d stood up for the oppressed and innocent muslim. You know who wasn’t cheering? The girl who was raped, when she found out her attacker, who she was told had been deported, was back in her hometown, free as a bird.

I generalize when ongoing overwhelming evidence points to an undeniable reality. Honor killings, “no go” zones in Sweden, Denmark, England, France, etc., sharia courts in England, female genital mutilation, forced marriages, forced conversions to islam, fatwas to kill blasphemers (you know, that Rushdie guy wrote a book many years ago, so he’s gotta die), kidnappings, murders, and never ending violence justified by any insult to their religion. Humans are predators; all colors, all races, at all times throughout history.
We’ve all “had our day” as they say…I don’t think the Japanese are going to rampage through southeast Asia again, the Germans aren’t going to retake France and Belgium, the Mongols aren’t going to lay waste to a large chunk of Asia and eastern Europe, the British aren’t going to re-establish their worldwide empire, and so on. In other words, most of us are now somewhat “civilized”.
But the muslims…these people actually believe that once islam has been in a land, even if they lose a war and are expelled (like in Spain, where they infested the place for almost eight centuries!) it is rightfully theirs forever, and they must return to re-establish the caliphate. Islam has conquered, and held, by force, more land area than any other group on earth.

Self-preservation is a survival instinct that transcends morality, religion and ideology; genocide may be the only option.
You have to understand that muslims are different than any other group in history…they will never admit defeat, they will only back off for awhile whenever someone gives them a bloody nose. Their ideology is so strong they cannot accept any other religion or political system, they feel it is their absolute duty to dominate the entire globe. They call it the Ummah – one god, one goal, one community – everyone on earth must submit to allah. They could spread islam almost everywhere, and have a world filled with 99.9999% muslims, but if a few christians, atheists, or wiccans were holed up somewhere, minding their own business, they would not be able to rest until they found every last one of them and converted or killed them.
A typical foe, for example, the Japanese, after being defeated by the Allies, had to admit their Emperor was not an infallible god, and they adapted…they copied western ways, accepted democratic self-government, learned from us and started making better cars and electronics than we could. They joined the modern civilized world.
For a nerdy star trek reference, Islam is like the Borg…they must absorb every other species in the universe into the Borg collective. Their ethos: “Resistance is futile.”

India yesterday…a muslim man, who has been stalking and harassing a hindu teenage girl for a year, got really upset when she turned down his marriage proposal: “Marry me, accept Islam, else I will make your life hell”. She told her father, who said he would speak to the man’s father about the threat…her father noted “He kept on forcing my daughter to marry and convert for months. He was a one-sided lover, a stalker.”
Turns out there was no need for the girl’s father to speak to the muslim man’s father… the muslim man doused her with gasoline through an open window while she was sleeping, and burned her to death.
The police superintendent told the BBC that while the crime is not considered religious in nature, “[police] are being especially vigilant as the boy and girl belong to different religions.”
A local politician urged the public not to assign undue blame to the killer’s religion.
“The criminal has neither any caste nor any religion.”
You know what’s worse than muslim savagery? The cowardice of the west, in that it will not recognize and deal effectively with this deadly threat to their citizens.
Before you say this was an isolated incident…sorry, no…happens all the time. According to one 2020 study, one stalking case is reported to Indian authorities every 55 minutes.
And strange as it may seem, we never see christians cutting the heads off muslim teachers, or jews putting death threats on muslim authors, or hindus burning muslim girls in their beds.

The rape of the dalit girl, while horrific, had nothing to do with muslims…just the ancient practice of Indian caste violence.
The Gujarat gang rape, also inexcusable, was a REACTION by Hindus after muslims first set fire to a train full of hindu pilgrims, killing 58. The Hindus spent 3 days getting even, and this gang rape was one of many acts of “payback” violence.
Remember when the British left India in 1947, and wanted to give it back to the people? The muslims insisted they could not share the place with hindus, so Britain carved out Pakistan from India for them. Why the hindus didn’t insist that EVERY LAST muslim go to Pakistan, and leave India ONLY for hindus, I will never understand. There wouldn’t be any muslim on hindu violence, or hindu on muslim violence, if both sides would realize that they simply cannot co-exist peacefully, and it would be better for each group to have their own land. Gandhi tried to make it work, he failed too.
