The Future Fascists Fashion

“I try to imagine the world, our society, if the [school] privatizers get their way. Kids will be sorted by race, religion, and ethnicity, never interacting with anyone different from themselves. The homeschoolers will know only what their parents know. No professional teachers needed. A dumbed-down, divided society, where ignorance is widespread.”

If their monolithic control of public education were to be threatened, the absurd house of cards that is progressive dogma would collapse, and some children might be exposed to facts and ideas that threaten the lunatic, deranged progressive narrative. Only by exerting total control over education in a Soviet-style education monopoly can progressives ensure that their lies and fantasies go unchallenged.

If there’s a worse, more inefficient, more ineffective institution, less deserving of a monopoly on public funds, it’s difficult to think of one…

This was many decades ago when Diane Ravich was a young conservative champion of charter schools and private schools. Then she learned how damaging charter schools were–how they hurt public education by diverting funds, how they are looted by their private owners, and so on. So, this is not a this for me but not for thee situation, which you would have found out if you had bothered to look into this specious claim AT ALL. Diane is fine with private schools, as long as public funds are not used for them.

So, Diane learned something about this subject and changed her mind. Her children were adults by that time. So, you have utterly mischaracterized this. Typical.

Yes, Ravitch has a long history in this field, I give her credit for finally realizing that “one size fits all” ideas like Bill Gates’ Common Core are a disaster. Overall, however, she is a big government progressive, tends to run with fellow idiots like DeBlasio, who she endorsed.
No one can deny that education is broken in many of our big cities, just look at the discipline and violence problems that are now rampant.
We’ll see if Governor Sanders of Arkansas is able to push through some real education reforms. I know, you’re incredibly bothered by vouchers…but, if it doesn’t work, the program can be CANCELLED and property tax funding of schools can be re-routed back to public schools only.

Manic, again, let me be clear about this, Diane is 83 years old. This was DECADES ago, when she was quite young. Her views have changed since then, and for good reason. What part of that do you not freaking understand?

So, there is no hypocrisy involved. She acted AT THAT TIME according to her views AT THAT TIME. Her views have changed because she learned better.

And the whole Hunter Biden’s laptop thing is Russian disinformation. But suckers are swallowing it whole.

An ACTUAL laptop, that Hunter himself signed over to the repair shop and was too high/screwed up to go back for, parts of it have been released, Joe Biden’s DOJ is trying to delay/bury the story, but you’re STILL calling it Russian disinformation?
Here’s a story from MSN, maybe you’ll believe a non-NY Post or Fox news story:

“The command of the old despotisms was ‘Thou shalt not.’ The command of the totalitarians was ‘Thou shalt.’ Our command is ‘Thou art.’ No one whom we bring to this place ever stands out against us. Everyone is washed clean. Even those three miserable traitors in whose innocence you once believed—Jones, Aaronson, and Rutherford—in the end we broke them down. I took part in their interrogation myself. I saw them gradually worn down, whimpering, groveling, weeping—and in the end it was not with pain or fear, only with penitence. By the time we had finished with them they were only the shells of men. There was nothing left in them except sorrow for what they had done, and love of Big Brother. It was touching to see how they loved him. They begged to be shot quickly, so that they could die while their minds were still clean.” (Part 3, Chapter 2)    1984, George Orwell
